History Gates 2014
Each intricate surface pattern designed for the History Gates represents a specific moment in Saudi Arabia’s long, rich history. When read together, the seven unique designs tell a story and represent cultural, social and technological progression through history.
The number of gates (seven) also holds great significance. Haj pilgrims walk around the Ka’ba seven times and immediate to the site, 7 wells were drilled in search of oil. On the seventh, oil was found.
